In addition to an internationally successful solo career, writing, recording albums and performing with the likes of prog-rockers Sebastian Hardie, Mario Millo has spent the last two decades composing award winning film scores, earning him a place as one of Australia’s most respected film composers.
His film highlights are many and include composing the score for the film Shame in 1986, In 1987 he won an AFI Award for his music in The Lighthorsemen and in 1991, he won an ARIA Award for Best Soundtrack and APRA Awards for Best Film/TV Theme and Best Film/TV Score for the Emmy-nominated Brides of Christ. In 2001, Mario completed the score for the ABC series Changi. The Changi theme, written and orchestrated by Mario, is a strong and evocative work.
