A leading Australian composer and conductor, Sean has conducted various recordings and concerts with many leading Australian orchestras, including the Adelaide Symphony, the Queensland Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony and Orchestra Victoria. His compositions have been performed by all the major Australian orchestras and by North American orchestras including the Dallas, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.
In 2002, he was featured exclusively at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) where his compositions were performed live for Her Majesty the Queen. In 2000, Sean composed the ABC's Olympic theme for use during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, which also featured at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester as well as the coverage of the 2004 Olympiad. Sean O'Boyle has released two CD's through ABC Classics - 'Dreams Are Forever', featuring renowned shakuhachi player Riley Lee; and 'Uillean Sunrise' which draws on Sean's celtic background. Sean also creates a number of CD releases for ABC For Kids music label, from educational and sing-along albums to beautifully instrumental releases that have all proved to be enormously popular with children and parents alike. Opera Queensland commissioned Sean's currently touring children's opera, 'The Songbird', featuring librettist Anne Roylance.
