Josh Arnold grew up in rural Australia, so it's not really a surprise to hear that this singer/songwriter's last album, 'Scarifier', was described as "dirt music" by one reviewer for it's earthy, rootsy take on music that alternated between urban and country references. His varied appeal and recognition was evident when he joined an elite group of artists who have been played on Triple J and won a Golden Guitar Award (also won by artists such as Paul Kelly and Kasey Chambers). Now, with a new CD due out in 2004, Josh Arnold's music has grown to it's full potential with a depth of lyric and melodic spread that makes this new collection of songs a journey that travels to far broader horizons than anything he has done previously.
